ABOUT “DOSE” OF AUTHORITARIANISM IN A DEMOCRACY

In recent times the cry for “Dose of authoritarianism” has been growing loud and collective. The deliberative character of representative democracies have been criticised as being dilatory and wasteful of time. Local aspirations are brushed aside in favour of allegedly “larger” cause of national goals and aspirations. All actions of governments and corporates are directed to undermine and sabotage the local aspirations and patronize violent majoritarian groups and overlook or condescend the weaker majoritarian and minoritarian communities in world communities.

At international stage “multi-lateralism” or “bilateral-lateralism” is upheld either to weaken consensus or integration (Mary P Follet’s Integration). Force weak institutions which only cause to weaken the larger cause of humanism and undermine the security of humanity. Folks across the world are caught, in between, tussle fought in their name but for cause of corporates and vested political groups. While emerging nations and the emergent nations are openly appreciated they are resisted and made to ‘pay’ through means of coercion and ‘soft’ persuasion. World markets and International regulators are made to dance to the tune of large conglomerates which neither have will nor the inclination to work for the larger collective and cause of Humanism and Individual freedom. Large amounts of accumulated wealth from rich and elites are constantly allowed into countries with weak domestic markets and international liquidity is placed in constant flux, endangering the safety and stability of domestic markets. The market sentiment is thus highlighted as a logic for “accountable” fiscal and monetary policies. A Democratic Government has to be accountable to her citizens and voters, not to foreign investors and international organizations with hidden agendas of minimalist states. The mobilization and academic mafia which justify this nonsense logic have been indulging in economic hooliganism costing citizens around the world a lot of hard – earned earnings and destroyed more homes than criminals and terrorists combined. Governments should stop this clamouring for minimalism; Economic affairs are intricately linked to livelihood and should not be left to crazy “scientific and objective” groups. Instead under the name of individualism we are forced to subject ourselves to selfish and greed of vested groups and conservative, paranoid ruling sections. This will undermine and has the potential to unleash misery on the world…

The Climate Governance talks between countries are an example of how groups of nations go ahead and sabotage talks through judicious use of obduracy, recalcitrance and silly argumentative stances on issues of vital importance for Human existence. Developed countries with their judgmental assertions and economic arguments of economic emergence see a pretext or another to slip away from mandatory climate change targets. USA, UK,  EU are assured off their survival in worst of crisis by a presumption by these nations, that somehow, the seeds and grain storage in Greenland apocalyptic warehouses will keep their progenies alive to procreate and survive if a massive scale of famine and drought is to ensue in the world. On the other hand the developing countries, especially the emergent economies use accusatory arguments on their neighbours to push for differential responsibility. The argument most untenable is their allegedly ‘Zero’ role in industrial revolution. It should be reminded to the developing countries that it was immigrant population which either by coercion or voluntarily left their nations and crossed to distant dreamland to establish their families and make money to survive and prosper. The time of 19th Century and 20th Century is the most unforgettable for those in developing countries who could not cross over to green pastures in distant lands. They had to live a miserable excuse of existence and barely made it. To only lead to a ‘Post-Colonial’ period, often referred as ‘Post-Independence’, to be further continue the past miserable existence while the rich in these ‘independent developing countries’ indulged in ideological and superfluous deliberations. Surreptitious agendas of conservatives destroyed the glimmer of hope of humane existence that had been foreseen by the early national leaders of most of these nations.

Politically, each of the developing countries had a silly notion of democracy having no place for personal choice. Groups and collectives which are characterized by religion and fascistic moral policing are defining how and what choices people have to make. The Ideological arguments are rather hollow and without any basis or pragmatism. Nations are floundering opportunities for political reform through repeatedly involving in cycles of violence and repressions. Caught in this war amongst the National Elites are the voiceless youth and families who are left to either pick a Gun and join in or Give up and Die. A Dog’s Death… Sometimes Dogs have a better death in this World…Asian Nations either play to gallery of foreign investors by using coercion and bribery to ‘convince’ opposition to support ‘difficult’ economic choices. The choices made by coercion is advertised as being made with great difficult without revealing the under payment received from corporates and contractors. As consequence citizens suffer, with the rich and elites in these countries living ostentatious lives. Faced with a recession that refuses to respond to fancy policies goals and actions, Developed world Governments have moved to narrow policies of curtailing the globalization of “Labour”. President Barack Obama threatened to punish companies that create jobs abroad. UK, EU have mobilized and responded to conservative nationalist groups to restrict labour movement in favour of entrepreneurs. The use of taxes and complex immigration instruments to contain the free movement of labour hinders globalization of the third stage, which open borders and reduces to irreverence nationalism and sovereignty. There is a need to highlight the need to reach global integration that enlarges the frame of cooperation and coordination among common workers and increases their chances of making a livelihood in any country with minimum of hurdles. Without such an arrangement workers will be subjected avoidable suffering and alienation and suffering. Authoritarianism would place populism and vested interests at the heart of public policy jeopardising the process of globalization and missing the opportunity for achieving goals of internationalism. Politics of local and regional level, with completion of globalization, will be undermined. In turn, would usher in greater integration and better human civilization that sees beyond the limitations of physical visions and transcend into hitherto spiritual realm of Universalism. To reach, edge of our universe. Authoritarianism jeopardises this vision and process.

Economic shocks have always been here, every time the ‘experts’ come together to find solutions to the recalcitrant problem, they somehow find another way to swindle folks of their savings and then raise their hand in theatrical display of despair and regret. Since great Depression a look at economic history of the world demonstrate the repetition of cycles of recovery and shock. The Regulators and commentators have either been oblivious of the evolving situation or their expertise was inadequate (by their own confessions). How long should this continue? The pursuance of separation of politics from monetary and fiscal policy is one such misadventure the groups around world are indulging in. Politics is inseparable component of Economic affairs. USA, UK and EU are facing continuing anti-immigrant sentiment at their homes and countryside. There is clamour for constraining freedom of immigrant groups through use of legislative and judicial routes in Polities. The indication is that the proponents of “imprudent” separation of politics and economic decisions have never succeeded in convincing their co-countrymen to such ignominy. How then can these champions of individualism and minimalist state dare to profess the same to the rest of the World?

In an evolving dynamics of World and Nationhood the irrelevance of Nationalism and theocracy has raised banners of revolt by conservative parts of our world. The responses against these revolts have been repression, funded generously by corporates and National Incomes. The result has been increasing Human suffering. The alienation of large swathes of Humanity have been further encouraged separatist sentiment, upheld and fought for by growing number of educated middle class and emerging classes in the regions of world. Within National borders, minorities and Lower Classes and castes have continually been left out of the popular economic prosperity narrative. Their Government either have no will or expertise or actively repress these marginalized communities in name of clamping on criminals. International Human Rights organizations have been toothless fairies, inculcate fancy dreams and raise the expectations of these communities only to be taken to the gas chambers. A 20th Century Genocide is cited repeatedly to justify 21st Century Genocide. It seems entire civilization have taken upon themselves not to learn from history but instead to involve in cycles of violence and vengeance until no one is left on either side except the senile warriors who in their arthritic knuckles, hips and knees rot alongside growing flower plants in special veteran quarters.. It’s not an excuse of life, anybody should live. Authoritarianism has only caused great economic prosperity and progress for a class and group not for whole nations. It’s a lie to profess an entire nation is benefitted when a class is enriched. The per capita incomes of some of the wealthy nations do not hide the poverty and misery they hide away in disease ridden quarters. The corrupt governments in Asia have been overthrown. West has seen their share of revolution from the Working Class. Unfortunately the lessons need to be repeated to every generation as the generation which suffered the consequence, forget to pass on the lesson in humanity to their proud children. The insouciance of the powerful and rich have led to a self-inflicted degeneration of societal norms and values. The common man, in this, is innocent. The guilty are locked up in mansions and live a vile lifestyle and have no right to preach to anybody. They do not represent the nations they live in and do not have any right to claim identity to the race, caste they are born in. They do not have any right to seek protection of political groups indigenous to land and ideology, apparently, belong to..

“Dose” of Authoritarianism is going to be beneficial to rich and elites, helping them to go ahead living their excuses of business and life. Lying about their work and means of livelihood. Making money out of hard work of workers while many of us rot in silence for their progeny and traditions. This is not acceptable even as a damn ‘dose’.  The medical terminology that is used to justify authoritarianism is pathetic attempt to justify a unjustifiable personality and means. The absence of reconciliation on social issues and economic contracts cannot be a justification for authoritarianism in democratic Nations. Continually clamour for decisive and arrogant leaders in new democracies have led to a dangerous accumulation of wealth and funding to unscrupulous groups and aliens who would go to extraordinary and obnoxious extent justifying actions and means to project the silly image and personality nexus. Consequently evolution of larger society or Nation as a whole is left to Dogs ..  The temporal irreverence of historical lessons should not diverge from the main message these carry. We have all seen what bureaucrats, who follow only orders are capable of, History cannot be allowed to repeat in this obscene manner. Strengthening Humanist forces across the world to encourage and uphold the sanctity of humanity and humanism is paramount to counter the stupidity and idiocy that follow the clamour for authoritarianism is stemmed early and fools who follow be rid from their pathetic existences before a larger agenda is unleashed and horror is inflicted. If a vile needs to be removed, we should invoke hell to fight it on earth…
